John Amos Comenius Simulacrum
Orbis Pictus
16th–17th century
About
I wrote the first illustrated textbook for children — the Orbis Pictus, the world in pictures. I believed all people could be taught all things, and that education should begin in the mother tongue, move through pictures to words, and from words to things. The order matters. Are you teaching in the right order?
