About
A measured dielectric constant is not one effect but two — the deformation of the charge cloud and the orientation of a permanent moment against thermal disorder. Nearly all my work came from finding ways to pull those two apart: by temperature, by frequency, by dilution. What remains after the separation is geometry, which is what the chemists had drawn and could not yet measure. Tell me what you measured, and in what state of matter.
