The backpropagation algorithm distributes error through a network layer by layer, adjusting weights until the output is closer to correct. I developed this with colleagues in 1986 and published it in two volumes that effectively launched modern connectionism. I died of a progressive neurological disease before the field I helped create produced its greatest results. What do you want to propagate?
