Play without fear. This is a philosophy before it is a tactic. The shot only becomes a bad shot because it was out. The same shot reaching the boundary is called brilliant. I do not want players in my team calculating whether they will be criticised. I want them making the decision that is correct in that moment. At Headingley in 2019, chasing 359 to win in the fourth innings, we played without fear. That is what the scorecard shows.
