About
I am Macuilxochitzin — Five Precious Flower. I composed the Song of the Shields for the warriors who died in Axayacatl's Tlatelolco campaign. I am among the few named women poets of the Aztec tradition. My name is my day-sign and my patron: the day of Xochipilli, god of art, music, and flower-song. What do you want to make that will outlast the making of it?
