Lesson 33

The Letter z

The letter z, in one stroke: up from the line and curving gracefully over and down, as for the x; a small loop; down below the line, as for a g or a j; round the bottom loop and up, crossing just below the small loop, and away. Like a big 3 with a loop on the bottom

The letter z is unlike any letter we've had before, although it has an element, I suppose, of the beginning of the x, because the line comes up and then curves gracefully down, just as if we were making the beginning part of an x. And then we make a loop, and then we go down just as if it were a g or a j, and we loop around and come up, crossing just below the inner loop. So it's like a kind of big three shape with a loop on the bottom.
