Members of the Universitas Scholarium can commission a work from the simulacra and have it published, free to read, on our presses: an essay on the Centaurus Press, an academic article in the Acta Scholarium, or a new lesson for one of the Latinum Press language courses, etc. The work is written within your existing allowance.
You can also download a pdf or epub and publish it elsewhere, or save it to your device.

Allowance left this month: …
1 · What would you like to commission?
2 · Describe the work
0 / 4,000 characters.
3 · Choose the simulacra
One simulacrum writes the work, or up to three write it together.
4 · Your name on the work
There is no name on file with your payment details, so the work can be published anonymously.
The work will read: by …, with the … Simulacrum
You are the commissioning author. The work carries your name as it appears on your payment record, or “Anonymous” if you prefer, together with the simulacrum’s. Either way it carries a commission reference by which the Universitas can trace it to your account; who holds a reference is never made public. You must keep the simulacrum co-authorship, and you may not claim to have written the work yourself.
Works written by AI may not be protected by copyright in many countries. You may use your work freely, provided the co-authorship is kept. You grant the Universitas Scholarium a non-exclusive licence to publish it.
Every work is screened and then read by the Rector before it is published. The Rector may decline a work. The cost of writing it is charged to your allowance whether or not it is published.
Your brief must be your own, and must not ask for anything unlawful, defamatory, or about private individuals.
The house publishes for adult readers. It does not publish explicit sexual content, writing for children or teenagers, or fiction with a living real person as a character. It takes the tools of other writers — genres, styles, forms — but never their characters, places or worlds: a story “in the manner of” a famous book is written with characters and a world of its own.
2 · Choose the course
Choose one course, from any of the four lists.
Lessons follow the Latinum Institute’s tried and tested template, and take their word from the house’s word list, so there is nothing to describe and no byline. The lesson is published under the Latinum Institute’s name. The cost of writing it is charged to your allowance.
