Lesson 28

The Letter w

The small letter w from the typeface: down like an i, up like a v, down again on the same line, up again, and a forward tick; alone, and three joined

Our next letter is w. And here again, we can see why we dot our i's, because if you were to dot these, you would get very confused and wouldn't know whether you had i's or w's.

Two undotted i's, which look like a w; the same with their dots; and a w

So: light up, and then straight down, as if we're making an i. The angles are the same as all the other angles you've done. And then you curve it, and you come up just as if you are making a v. And then you come down again on the same line, and you repeat the same action, and up again, and then tick away. Because this is a double v. We call it a double u, but it's actually a double v.

All right, that's all there is to it. It's a straightforward letter. Make sure everything is equal. And that's it. Enjoy.
