About this course

The powers the police hold to investigate crime, and the legal limits on them. Stop and search under PACE and Code A, the Misuse of Drugs Act and the Terrorism Act; the search of premises and persons and the taking of samples under PACE and Code B; the powers of arrest and detention under PACE and Codes C, G and H; and the powers in relation to questioning under PACE Codes C, E, F and H and the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, including the drafting of a written statement as an alternative to answering questions.
