    The question

    Who is a parent in law — and what does parental responsibility mean? The module covers the legal basis of parentage (legitimacy, surrogacy, donor conception, evidence and blood tests), the definition and characteristics of parental responsibility under s3(1) CA 1989, the Gillick competence test, how PR is acquired by automatic entitlement, agreement, or court order under the CA 1989 and ACA 2002, and how it can be terminated.
