The question
How local and national government raise taxes (direct and indirect), the main areas of public expenditure, how governments balance taxation with economic growth and efficiency, the annual budget, and the political debates between parties about taxation and public services (welfare, health, education, the elderly).
Outcome
The student can explain public finance and evaluate different political viewpoints on taxation and spending. (Economic citizenship)
