Led by Jean Manesca Simulacrum
The opening lesson of Manesca's 1836 oral method — fifteen words drilled to spoken fluency through his signature mouvement.

The question
Manesca's first lesson takes a student from zero French to fifteen words in active spoken production — typed back, then drilled through his mouvement until the answers come without thought. The method is to make you produce, not to explain. Each new item enters the pool and immediately becomes a building block for questions about everything that follows. Lesson 1 covers the article LE, the verb J'AI, the possessives MON and VOTRE, the adjective BON, the interrogative QUEL, and nine concrete nouns: clou, pain, sac, bas, fil, cuir, vin, sel.
Outcome
The student can produce correct full French sentences for any mouvement question drawn from the fifteen-item pool of Lesson 1. (Lesson 1 — pool foundation)
