About this course

The UK has no single codified constitution; it is assembled from statute, common law, prerogative, and convention. This course works through that assembly: the constitutional statutes and the case law on them, the doctrine of parliamentary sovereignty and the separation of powers, the composition and prerogative powers of the executive and their judicial review, the settlement of devolution and the organisation of the judiciary, and the structure of sub-central government, the police, and the law against corruption in public office.
