About this course

The oldest family of torts, descended from the writ of trespass. Trespass to the person in its three forms, assault, battery and false imprisonment, with their requirements and defences; the rule in Wilkinson v Downton for intentionally inflicted harm; trespass to land; and trespass to goods. The course then analyses the family as a whole and applies it to complex facts.
