About this course

Who is entitled to take a grant, and who may decline or be refused. How executors become entitled, by appointment in the will or according to its tenor, the chain of representation, the executor de son tort who intermeddles, and the limit of four; how administrators become entitled under rules 20 and 22 of the Non-Contentious Probate Rules 1987, following the order of beneficial entitlement, with the minimum and maximum numbers; and the ways a potential personal representative may avoid appointment by renunciation or power reserved, or be passed over by the court under s 116 of the Senior Courts Act 1981.
