About this course

How gifts in a will operate and fail. The types of legacy, specific, general, demonstrative, pecuniary and residuary, and devises, with the rules on abatement and on income and interest; the doctrines by which gifts fail, ademption, lapse, uncertainty, the witness-beneficiary rule, divorce, and forfeiture on public policy grounds; and the incidence of pecuniary legacies, where they are paid from where there is and is not undisposed-of property.
