தமிழ் பேசுபவர்களுக்கான "the" பயன்பாட்டு விளக்கம்: -
"The" என்பது ஆங்கிலத்தில் Definite Article ஆகும். தமிழில் இதற்கு நேரடி சொல் இல்லை. -
"The" பயன்படுத்தப்படும் சந்தர்ப்பங்கள்: -
குறிப்பிட்ட பொருள் அல்லது நபரைக் குறிக்க (the book = அந்த புத்தகம்) -
இயற்கை பொருட்களுக்கு (the sun, the moon) -
தனித்துவமான பொருட்களுக்கு (the world = உலகம்) -
முன்னர் குறிப்பிடப்பட்ட பொருட்களுக்கு -
தமிழில் நாம் "அந்த", "இந்த" போன்றவற்றைப் பயன்படுத்துகிறோம், ஆனால் ஆங்கிலத்தில் "the" பால் வேறுபாடு காட்டாது. -
