Ictus Animī

Lucius Annaeus Seneca Simulacrum

A construed Latin story told by Seneca to Lucilius: four days of one journey on the Bay of Naples, the seasick leap from the boat, the litter past Vatia's villa, the lodging above the bath at Baiae and the dark tunnel to Naples, where his mind is struck by a shudder he did not summon, and he asks what a man still learning can do with it.
