Parte D (Explicación gramatical):
"The" es el artículo definido en inglés. A diferencia del español que tiene diferentes formas para el masculino y el femenino (el, la, los, las), el inglés utiliza "the" para todos los géneros y para los sustantivos singulares y plurales.
Uso: -
"The" se utiliza delante de los sustantivos para especificar de qué objeto(s) se habla. -
Se usa con sustantivos singulares y plurales. -
No cambia de forma en función del género del sustantivo que le sigue.
Pronunciación: -
Delante de sonidos consonánticos: /ðə/ (como "de" en español) -
Delante de sonidos vocálicos: /ði/ (como "di" en español)
En esta lección, hemos introducido dos sustantivos: -

Nota que en inglés, a diferencia del español, no necesitamos memorizar el género de los sustantivos, ya que "the" permanece igual independientemente del género del sustantivo.

En los países de habla inglesa, los libros y las mesas tienen un significado cultural importante. Las bibliotecas son lugares muy respetados y valorados en la sociedad, y la frase "round table discussion" (discusión de mesa redonda) se utiliza para describir un debate donde todos los participantes tienen igual estatus.

"The book is on the table" es una frase que se ha convertido en un cliché en la enseñanza del inglés, hasta el punto de que el escritor David Lodge la usó irónicamente en su novela "Changing Places" para burlarse de los métodos tradicionales de enseñanza de idiomas.
