The Suffix -ért
The suffix -ért is pronounced approximately as “ayrt” with a long é sound followed by rt. The stress in Hungarian always falls on the first syllable of a word, and when -ért is added, the stress remains on the original first syllable: KÖNYVért, SZAbadságért.
