We all studied something somehow, little by little, so that with such an education, by God's will, it's not hard for us to shine in society.
This famous opening from Chapter One of Eugene Onegin reflects Russian society's approach to education in the early 19th century. The use of "мы" here is ironic, including the narrator and his social class in a gentle self-criticism of their superficial education.
