Meet the Founder

The Rector, Universitas Scholarium

Evan der Millner (M.A., London) is a scholar and educator. As a scholar, his specialty is Latin literature. As a teacher, he is a “generalist,” who has taught subjects as diverse as Chemistry, Penmanship, English Literature, Classical Hebrew, Hermeneutics and Biology. As a polymath, he brings his love for learning and his expertise as an educator to the design of the Universitas Scholarium.

His idea for the Universitas Scholarium began with two very simple ideas: that a great education should be accessible to everyone, and that knowledge is best encountered in interactive tutorials, not lectures. He wanted to make education more affordable to students who did not have access to the academy or a community of scholars.

Each institution is populated with the scholars who worked there. You can walk through the institution, meet the faculty, and begin tutorials with them in their historical context.
